Event Details

David Doggett will present “Hydrangeas for a Southern Garden”. What are the defining characteristics of the five main classes of hydrangeas we typically see in Southern gardens? What are the pros and cons of each hydrangea species? If designing a new hydrangea garden in this time of climate change, which species might you emphasize, and which might your pollinator population prefer? Come and hear everything you need to know about varieties, care, and pruning.

Irondale resident David Doggett is an Advanced Master Gardener with a specialization in Hydrangeas. He tends the hydrangea beds at Aldridge Gardens and is the current president of the Alabama Hydrangea Society.

Light refreshments will be offered.
